Visit Amherstburg Ontario

Amherstburg, which is situated on the Detroit River, south of the United States, and across from Bois Blanc Island (Boblo), is one of the oldest towns in the province of Ontario. Its unique, century old buildings stand beside modern architectural structures linking the past with the present, and offering the visitor a blend of both worlds within its boundaries.

As of January 1 1998, Amherstburg was amalgamated with the Townships of Anderdon and Malden. Our population is now 19,500.

We have many beautiful parks and historical sites including Fort Malden National Historic Park and Museum, The Park House Museum, The Gordon House, North American Black Historical Museum, just to name a few. Every year we have many special events which draw thousands of people to our community. Here are a few.
