DIRECTIONS TO GET THERE...
Wild Rose guest house is located in Wheatley, Ontario about 75 minutes from Detroit International Airport, 50 minutes from Windsor, and three and a half hours from Toronto on the north shore of Lake Erie, 10 minutes east of the town of Leamington.
From DETROIT International Airport: Take Interstate 94 east into Detroit, following signs for ‘the bridge to Canada’. Take the Ambassador Bridge into Canada (toll), continuing straight ahead after you exit customs. After about five miles (8 km), Hwy. 3 splits off to the right (to Leamington), but DON'T take this. Keep left and you will be on Hwy. 401.
Following Hwy. 401 east for about 30 minutes from the bridge to exit 48 (Hwy. 77 South - Leamington). Take this exit south through the town of Comber. On the south side of town is a flashing red light.
From that light, continue straight ahead another 4.0 miles (6.5 km) to where the road swings abruptly west at a right angle. Turn left on this corner, onto County Rd. 8. From this intersection follow Cty. Rd. 8 for 5.2 miles (8.4 km) to where it ends in a T-junction at Kent Rd. 1. Turn right onto Kent Rd.1, and proceed 4.8 miles more (7.8 km) to the traffic light in Wheatley.
At the traffic light in Wheatley, turn left (east) here and proceed 0.3 miles (0.5 km) to
Harbour Rd. (on your right). Turn right onto Harbour Rd. Wild Rose is the third house down on the right. Look for the small green and white 21298 beside the road.
Try to park on the left side of the driveway, if there is room.
From WINDSOR Airport: Turn right as soon as you leave the airport, and proceed to the first traffic light (Walker Rd.). Turn left (south) onto Walker and proceed to County 46 (the second traffic light), where you turn left, watching for the signs for eastbound Hwy. 401 (just after you pass under the overpass, you make a left turn). You are now on Hwy. 401, and you proceed to exit 48, and follow the ‘Following Hwy. 401 east' directions above.
From TORONTO or LONDON: Take Hwy 401 west to Exit 63 (Tilbury). Turn right after you exit (heading west into Tilbury). At the first traffic light in Tilbury, turn left (south) onto Kent Rd. 1. Follow Rd. 1 through Tilbury, and continue approximately 22 km (15 miles) to the traffic light in Wheatley.
At the traffic light in Wheatley, turn left (east) here and proceed 0.3 miles (0.5 km) to Harbour Rd. (on your right). Turn right onto Harbour Rd. Wild Rose is the third house down on the right. Look for the small green and white 21298 beside the road. Try to park on the left side of the driveway, if there is room.
From Hwy 3 East (Blenheim): As you enter the town of Wheatley on Hwy 3, watch for the Liquor store (LCBO) on your left (south). About 300 metres after you pass it, the road starts to dip slightly and Harbour Road is on your left. Turn onto Harbour Road, and we are the third house on the right (#21298). If you reach the Shell gas station or the traffic light, you've gone too far.
