TOPIC: The Misplaced Modifier

RESOURCE MATERIALS:

  1. Worksheets: types of modifiers, sentences with errors, and answers .

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Divide the class into pairs.
  2. Distribute the worksheets
  3. Correct the first sentence together as a class by changing the position of the modifier and by identifying the type of modifier used
  4. Have pairs correct the sentences and identify the modifier used
  5. Discuss the answers

COMPLETION TIME:

Approximately 30 minutes.

EVALUATION:

  1. Completion of task mark.
  2. Teacher monitors students working in pairs.
